A date override is an exception for one specific date. Instead of using your normal weekly schedule for that day, you set different hours or mark the day as closed (or not available). CleanSlot uses date overrides for both business hours and for each staff member's availability.
How date overrides work
- Weekly schedule (business or personal) defines your default hours for each day of the week (for example Mon–Fri 9:00–17:00).
- A date override applies only to one calendar date. It overrides whatever would normally apply for that day of the week.
- You can use a date override to:
- Close the day or mark it not available: No slots (business) or you are not offered for appointments (personal) on that date.
- Set custom hours: Different start or end times for that date only (for example 10:00–14:00 instead of 9:00–17:00).
After you add an override, it appears in a table on the Schedule page. You can remove it anytime; the date then goes back to following your usual weekly schedule.
Where you manage date overrides
- Business date overrides: On the Schedule page, open the Business schedule tab (owners only). Scroll to the Date overrides card. You can close a day or set custom hours for a date there. For full steps, see How do I manage business hours?.
- Personal date overrides: On the Schedule page, open the Personal schedule tab (owners) or the main schedule view (staff). Scroll to the Your date overrides card. You can mark a day as not available or set custom hours for a date there. For full steps, see How do I set my availability as a staff member?.
When to use date overrides
Use business date overrides when the whole business is closed or on special hours for a day (holidays, vacation, events). Use personal date overrides when you are off or on different hours for a day (time off, appointments, part-day availability). Date overrides keep one-off changes accurate without changing your regular weekly hours.
